What “Sent with Love” means to Me

Written by Michael Creadon, board member on June 11, 2025

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets”  - Matthew 7:12

The “Golden Rule” is something that I feel is followed so well by “Sent with Love.”  The founder, Jennifer Rice, along with her husband Robert Rice, have practiced this rule as long as I have known them.  They have always been there to help people in need, especially the medically vulnerable.  When the medically vulnerable are children, all our hearts go out to them.  If there is a better way to be a “good and faithful servant” than helping children, I do not know what it is.

Inspired by their benevolence, I knew I had to be a part of their mission.  I would say that I felt a similar calling.  Even though I am a 57-year-old, I feel that I have the mind of a child in many ways.  That is why I felt that I could reach the children by writing cards.  I would like to share some of the cards I have written:

Kindness does not always require a monetary donation.  We can do acts that can be effective in brightening one’s day without stretching the budget.  Sometimes a kind word or personalized card is all one needs to make them smile.

We also should share the talents that we have been given with others.  I have always been into artistic endeavors, and have even made presents for my sons’ birthdays.  There is no reason that I had to restrict that to only my immediate family.  As a matter of inspiration, Robert and Jennifer are both pilots and have flown people in need of medical care to hospitals in Guatemala.  That is a gift that they both have and have shared to help others.  We all have different ways that we can contribute.  Some people have the monetary means, some are natural leaders, some are artistic, some are good teachers, etc.  I feel that we should all contribute in ways that we are able.

“Sent with Love” has created a means for me to contribute in a way that I would be unable to otherwise.  I feel there would be far less depression if more people found their path to help others, instead of being jealous of others online or otherwise.  For anyone who is looking to make a difference in the lives of others, I would recommend joining up with “Sent with Love (Motts).”  Besides knowing Robert and Jennifer, I have met other amazing people through SWL. While you are working to make a difference in other people’s lives, it will make a difference in yours.
